I can't really speak about other servers. Now that they over-incentivized them, all kinds of players just farm one right after another, completely destroying the mechanics of the fights. Then there was a period months after release where you couldn't even find enough players to do the events. I remember wiping on the shaman in Wayfarer Foothills a few times in beta. It's definitely hard to maintain a balance. Yeah that's unfortunately the way it is now. It's probably worth pointing out that it may not be so bad on servers with smaller populations.
I'm guilty of starting the attacking early, I won't deny that, but it's because I won't get any reward otherwise. The Jungle Wurm is the worst - it can actually start taking damage before its health bar appears, so often by the time the event appears to start it's nearly dead.
With the Shaman, as soon as the portals with the ice elementals are destroyed he can start taking damage, so if you're too far away he melts before you can hit him. Plenty enough time for everyone at the event to tag them anyway, and ensure they get a reward.īut two of the bosses - the Svanir Shaman and the Jungle Wurm - die incredibly quickly. Some of the World Bosses in the starting zones are fine, and take a while to kill - Shadow Behemoth, Fire Elemental. The thing is that some of these events just don't scale properly compared to how many people are fighting.
